About Us-CMF

Coventry Muslim Forum (CMF) was inaugurated in 2010 following a need identified by key members of our community for a single body to represent the Muslim population of Coventry.

A single body allows greater collective bargaining when tacking issues faced by the community. It also provides our key stakeholders a single point of contact to help deliver services or address any issues we face.

There is no formal funding for our work and all expenses are covered by donations from our members and the wider community.

The CMF management team is made up of professionals who bring their skills/talents together to deliver the objectives of the forum. The CMF management team have worked hard with statutory and voluntary organisations on a number of topics which affect the Muslim Community.

Some of the outcomes we have delivered over the years include the following:

  • Helped establish Eden Girls School in Coventry via the government Free School initiative.

  • Helped develop a protocol in conjunction with relevant parties, to enhance the burial process for our community.

  • Worked with the Council Planning department to meet the needs of the Muslim community and educate the community to submit viable applications.

  • Developed policies and procedures within Madrasahs in Coventry so that children are taught in a safe environment (Safeguarding).

  • Worked with other faith groups and promote a healthy relation with people from all faiths.

  • Supported Syrian refugees coming to Coventry and help them integrate with the home community quickly and effectively.

  • Promoted Health awareness events to promote healthy life styles.

  • Facilitated the delivery courses about Islamic Awareness to staff that work for statutory and non-statutory organisations and celebrate special Islamic religious events with people from other faiths.

  • Promoted events and success stories from the Muslim community in the media and publicised events for the wider community.
